What does a backing plate eliminator do?
It removes the stock brake rotor backing plate on a 79-85 Toyota axle.
This makes your front axle much cleaner, allows easier cleaning of brake
parts, and just looks faster. This is a simple install, that if your
servicing your knuckles can be done at the same time, simply omit the
stock backing plate and install the eliminator. The eliminator is
constructed of USA HR plate steel. The
obvious is that you will loose the stock brake line mount.

Toyota diff armor for Toyota solid axle trucks and
solid axle rear IFS trucks. Helps prevent the common caved in ring gear
cover on the light duty Toyota axle. Laser cut and formed from 3/16ths high
grade steel. Design allows for easy cleaning of packed mud with open lower
corners, as well as allowing easy installation and removal of the fill plug.

Need a little
extra axle beef? This is the kit. Running 37" + tires on a Toyota axle is
pushing the limits of the stock parts. The Birfield eliminator gives you
some room to work with. Tested on various competition buggies, run in the
real world, used by us.
The axles are constructed of 4340 high nickel alloy,
with a 760x u joint. You may upgrade to CTM's or Aussie Joints. Kit
includes all new axles, spindles, seals, u-joints, and instructions.
Currently I run either 37 inch MTR's or 39.5 TSL's.
Recently while on a snow run I backed up a dirt bank with my 5000 pound 4
Runner, running my 37's. This wall was about vertical. I turned my wheels
to the right full lock, my stops are actually turned in as you can turn
tighter with a u-joint, and tried to move forward. Apparently the ditch
was deeper than it looked, and covered in 2 ft of snow. I was digging
down, not moving foward. So like most people, I took the motor up to
4500rpm's and dropped the clutch in reverse, full steering lock. Last time
I did this with a set of HD Birfields and Chromo inner shafts, I spit the
inner cage out of the Birfield. This time I still had no movement, but
nothing broke. 3 more tries and I was moving again, much too the amazement
of the other Toyota owners in the club, with no broken parts.

Note: If you choose to supply your own rotors you
will need Chevy IFS 4x4 light duty 6 lug rotors. 88-97 should work. You
will need to machine these to fit your hub centric.

Add large
tires to your truck, with a winch and some other extra weight, and it
doesn't stop. We have installed disk brake conversions for over 5 years, and
in that time, we have used many conversion parts, some worked, most didn't,
very few fit well, most required work to get bolt holes to line up, such as
certain cast versions of this design bracket. What we did was to take the
good, and the bad, and build brackets that work every time. There is only
.003 tolerance on these brackets, which required us to start by laser
cutting .375 ( 3/8ths) steel, then forming it, then final machine of the
holes that bolt to the axle housing and the caliper. Once using this 3 stage
process, we came out with the perfect bracket. We also needed it to be one
piece, not 2 or 3. Simple makes install easy. These brackets use common
Chevy car calipers. Years of the calipers are 79-85 Monte Carlo or Cadilac
Eldorado, front or rear depending on if you need the e-brake or not. There
is a small knob on some calipers that will interfere with the bracket,
grinding is ok. They can be bought new from race shops for about $80 pr, or
any auto parts supply should carry them. E-brake style calipers are about
$300pr. We supply a modified Chevy rotor if
needed, they are $90pr, part # Toy-RDR-001. The braided brake lines
needed to connect the Toyota to Chevy caliper are part # Toy-RBL-001. The
brake lines are $90 pr and are full length braided lines to the Toyota
factory T fitting.

Toyota Lock Right Locker

Add some traction! You don't need
a 10K suspension if your locked front and rear, and we have proven it.
Nothing will improve off-road ability like a locker kit. Trucks with 31's
locked all around go places 44's unlocked can't. One of the first items we
recommend in a build up.
I'm currently running 37 inch MTR's
with a 4 year old Lock-Right on my Samurai with Toyota axles. While
Lock-Right frowns on this size tire, it just demonstrates that you don't
all ways have to spend huge amounts of cash to get a locker in your
vehicle.

Need a little
extra width? Sky's now stocks 1.5 wide wheel spacers. These spacers are
constructed of aluminum, come in 1.5 widths, fit front or rear, and
include studs and lug nuts.
Do to the possibility of the lug
nuts coming loose, Sky's does not recommend wheel spacers on a daily driver
vehicle. Sky's leaves the decision up to the consumer as to what they
consider a daily driver. If the possibility of loosing a tire scares you, we
also offer our Wide Axle Kit. See below for more info. |

Toyota Solid Axle Widening Kit.
|

What is a Widening Kit?
What this spacer does is allow you to run IFS wheel
hubs on a strait axle front end. IFS wheel hubs wheel flanges are offset
further to allow the front ends of these trucks to match up to the rear,
which is 58 inch's wide. A pair of these CNC machined spacers is needed to
adapt either your current solid axle rotors and calipers, or the upgraded
IFS V6 calipers and FJ-40 or FJ-60 series vented rotors. We supply all
needed hardware to bolt this spacer to the rotor. This
can be done in your garage, no special equipment needed. Average install
time with correct tools and parts is 2.5 hours.
