Sky Manufacturing has been producing and installing the most complete USA Made! 95.5-2004 Toyota Tacoma Leaf Sprung Soild Axle Conversion on the market since the year 2008! Following in our footsteps of our other Solid Axle Conversions, this kit is all USA made and manufactured, so nothing but the best parts and quality are allowed. Sky Manufacturing has designed our own very specific leaf spring set for the Tacoma platform, and based our kit around them. Most common axle used is a Jeep Wagoner Dana 44, which ever side diff drop depending on t case output. Some of these axles will have 36519-36520 casting knuckles for high steer conversions. They will all need spring perch's to convert to Spring Over Axle.
FJ-80 Land cruiser axles are becoming more popular as well, since Billy ( see Pirate 4x4.com-fj-80 high steer) has developed a 6 stud FJ-80 Cruiser steering knuckle arm set. This opens many options up.We can provide the parts needed to use this axle as well.
Tacoma's are more involved than mini trucks and having a complete kit will save hours of parts searching and digging, as well as many dollars in extras not for seen.
Note that some power steering lines may hook right up, and others might need new hoses made with special fittings. You can also use T-100 lines from a similar motor truck combination.
Kit is available in either a 7 inch over stock IFS lift, or a 10 inch over stock IFS lift. The 7 is great for up to 37's and the 10 is for 39's.
The solid axle kit consists of:
1 leaf spring hanger kit-shackles, shackle hangers, front cross member, frame reinforcement, end caps, kit set for either 7 or 10 inch lift.
1 set of Sky Manufacturing Tacoma Solid axle leaf springs.
1 frame brace plate steering box mount kit
1 High Steer conversion, Dana 44 Dana 60 or Custom Toyota.
1 Cleaned, inspected Toyota steering box
1 Steering shaft
1 Firewall Plate
1 Oil Pan Conversion kit, 2.7 or 3.4
1 U-bolt flip kit
1 Shock Hoop Kit
1 Brake line kit
1 pr Bilstein Shocks
1 Poly Bump Stop Kit.
1 Drive shaft adapter Dana 44 or 60 to Toyota.
You supply axle, and drive line mods, and labor, or we can install it for you starting around $1000 and up.
Note: a good starting point to hang front cross member is to measure strait line from front cab mount bolt to eye of hanger bolt for 45.5 inch measurement. Next measure back 45.250 inch's, this will be the upper shackle hanger eye.
Capping the end of the frame with supplied box tube, measure from the front core support body bolt stud center, 2 inch's forward. If you have more frame stick out then this, trim frame back as needed.
