s 10 solid axle conversion
has any body used skys kit for the s10? looks like a good price. good quality? installation? need answers.
will this kit work well with full width axles? fullsize rancho 4in lift springs for 1987 3/4 ton burb, i planned on using these because they come from the donor truck but i need to know if they are the correct length for this kit. think they will be too stiff?
Just a thought, but if you run the lift springs from the suburban they're going to ride very stiff! You're switching them over to a substantially lighter rig, so you may have to do a little leaf swapping to get them to ride and flex decent.
I was wundering the same thing I have a front and rear axle out of a 83 k5 blazer that have been fully rebuilt with 4.10's and locker will they work with the kit with no modification or will I have to move the spring and shock mounts on the axle housing?
The s-10 platform is actually not much lighter than a full size. We recomend jeep Wagoneer front springs, such as Rancho 44044, or full size gm springs such as Sky Jacker soft rides, they will work great after break in. The kit is designed for a 31.5 spring center axle, such as full size GM axles.
i just got the hanger kit for my 93 4dr jimmy
in the near future, were going to do an Full size SAS
D44/60 -4:10 from my old 3/4 F250
and was told i should be able to use 2 sets of stock leafs for this conversion...
Would R-44044 be better? more lift?

opps they shipped me the full size kit
i bought the kit for my 91 4door i used front springs out of a 91 wrangler with add aleaf springs installed. doner was a 89 wrangler 4cycl dana 30/35 with 4:10 gears only problem found was need to do spring over not quite a nough lift to fit 33's so far i have pieced together 2 spring sets to get enough clearance fo fit tires with out dooing spring over all i have left to do is figure out front drive shaft hits trans crossmember any one out there have any suggestions or a good idea?
bleep - just curious - if you are going through the trouble of installing bigger springs under the axles, why not just use the existing springs and do a spring-over? That could possibly solve your driveshaft/crossmember issue at the same time.
i ordered the same spring hanger kit a couple days ago. i've source a d30/d35 for my 95 blazer. should be fun.
by the way - this is my first post. my name is jon, i'm from oakdale, CA. hi.
