Assorted Pictures of Trips/Events. Below we have compiled some pictures of our run on the Helldarado trails. Some pictures depict extremely dangerous and skilled driving, not everyone should attempt them. Lower Helldarado trail, mid way, first good flex shot I could get. The 37" Mtrs are at 4 psi here. These are really stiff when they are new. I maxed out the front shocks on compression and extension here, 13" travel DT's. The entrance to Upper Helldarado. By the time we got through lower, not many people were in line for Upper. I waited about 10 minutes and watched the yellow STX buggy over the first obstacle. I tried the same line, slid into the rock anyway. If I had 5 more inch's of wheelbase, and slightly wider stance I would be have been ok I think....
This is Dave Ripplinger. Dave's one of the few people I have ever met who only builds hard tops...Dave also likes to wheel really hard obstacles and trails. Here Dave had to turn around do to our friend Mark from LC 4wd getting his full size blazer stuck on the second obstacle. After running out winch cable ( yuck!) from Marks blazer, and seeing it has a slight fray, we decided to use Dave's winch. Dave turned around in Upper Helldarado, no one there had ever seen that done between the 2nd and 3rd obstacle!
This is Tim under Dave's Sami. Dave and Tim are long time buddies. Tim has a nicely built Sami as well.
Here we are at the Waterfall. Its greatly deteriorated over the years, and we managed to pull ourselves up with 3 people holding the front end down, keying it instead of winching.. It still has great pucker factor.
Here's Timmy! Tim and Dave both have wheel base's approaching 100". This is apparently where its at, because they both walked up some hairy stuff on Pritchett Canyon that I had trouble on at 90". Tim and myself run Toyota mini axles, Dave runs 27 spline Spider Trax Sidewinders. Dave runs 38.5 11 TSL Boggers and knows how to use his gas and clutch pedal. As I get time I will try and get other trails up that we ran, such as Pritchett Canyon, part of Golden Spike, and Prooving Grounds. Our Trekker in Little Sluice, Rubicon Trail.
Rubicon July 4th, 2004 above, Below Hammer Trails Thanksgiving 2005.
Making sure everything works, after driving 1200 Miles!
There are worse places to eat Thanksgiving dinner, even if it is only Turkey lunchables.
Where will you go from here?
First obstacle on Outerlimits, and good use of an exo cage.
Our friend Brents buggy, much more suited to the Hammers than full body vehicles.
